Private async video infrastructure for your company

Stop renting screen recording by the employee.

Get your company's own private video workspace for screen recording, video sharing and async communication — deployed on infrastructure you control, configured for your team, and handed over.
Using Loom or considering it?

For some teams, paying per user forever is worth the convenience. For others, running their own video infrastructure can deliver the core capability with very different economics.

The outcome

Your company's own async video workspace.

We deploy and configure a private video system for your company, set up the infrastructure around it, and give your team a ready-to-use workspace. You don't need an internal technology team to get started.
01

Record

Capture screen, camera and explanations for updates, walkthroughs, feedback, training and support.

02

Share

Send private video links, organise team content and make asynchronous communication easier.

03

Own

Run the capability on infrastructure your company controls instead of tying usage to a per-seat SaaS subscription.

The ownership question

Convenience is valuable. Perpetual rent isn't always necessary.

The question isn't whether SaaS is good or bad. It is whether this particular capability creates enough continuing vendor value to justify paying for every user, every month, indefinitely.

Rent the capability

  • Recurring per-user pricing
  • Cost grows with team adoption
  • Vendor-controlled hosting
  • Vendor roadmap determines the product
  • Very low setup responsibility

Own the capability

  • Fixed implementation engagement
  • No per-user software subscription for the deployed video system
  • Company-controlled infrastructure and data
  • Ability to customise around your workflows
  • Support can be purchased only when required
Implementation

We set it up. You own it.

The engagement is deliberately simple. We remove the technical friction that normally prevents a non-technical company from benefiting from self-hosted software.

Core capability

Everything needed for everyday async video.

The exact feature set depends on the deployment configuration and the capabilities your team actually needs. We design the implementation around practical organisational use.
Screen + camera recordingExplain work visually without scheduling another meeting.
Private video sharingShare recordings with colleagues, customers or selected viewers.
TranscriptionTurn spoken explanations into text for faster consumption and reuse.
Searchable contentMake accumulated video knowledge easier to retrieve.
Workspaces & permissionsOrganise content and control access across the organisation.
Company brandingPresent the workspace as part of your company's own infrastructure.
Storage controlChoose where company video data is stored.
Analytics & engagementUnderstand whether important recordings are actually being consumed.

The interesting part begins when a video stops being just a video — and becomes an input into how your organisation works.

Optional workflow engineering

Build organisational workflows on top.

Once the core system is running, OwnStack can connect recordings to your existing tools and automate what should happen next. These are separate, scoped engineering projects — not mandatory subscriptions.

Act
Update the system where work actually happens.
EXAMPLE

Bug → Ticket

Record a bug. Automatically create a structured engineering ticket with the recording attached.

EXAMPLE

Update → Project

Record a project update. Extract progress, blockers and decisions and push them into the project system.

EXAMPLE

Training → Knowledge

Record once. Turn the explanation into searchable organisational knowledge for future employees.

Commercial model

Pay for implementation. Add expertise when useful.

The commercial structure is intentionally different from per-seat SaaS. You pay us for making ownership practical — deployment, configuration, handover, and any additional engineering you choose.

FAQ

Before you switch.

Self-hosting is not free of cost or responsibility. There will still be infrastructure, storage, maintenance and operational considerations. OwnStack exists to make those trade-offs explicit and manageable.
Is this a Loom clone?

No. OwnStack Video is a private async-video implementation designed to give your company the core screen-recording and video-sharing outcome under a company-controlled model. The objective is not to reproduce every proprietary feature of any particular SaaS product.

Do we need our own technology team?

No. We can handle deployment, configuration and handover. Ongoing support can also be purchased separately if your company does not want to operate the system internally.

Does “no subscription” mean zero ongoing cost?

No. Your infrastructure, storage, backups and any optional third-party AI or cloud services can still have ongoing costs. What can disappear is the recurring per-user software subscription model for the core video capability.

Can we customise it?

Yes, where technically appropriate. We can scope custom workflows, integrations and automation as separate engineering engagements.

Should every company replace Loom?

No. If Loom's convenience, proprietary features, enterprise controls or managed-service value justify its price for your organisation, staying with it may be the right decision. We help you evaluate the ownership alternative.

Your team needs the capability. That doesn't necessarily mean you need to rent it forever.
